Weller/Catlin Reception 9/27/08
Sunday, 28. September 2008
Clance & Lindsay Catlin picked out a beautiful venue for their wedding reception, Cobblestone Creek in Brillion, WI. The staff is superb, and their menu is fantastic! It was our first time playing there, and we were quite impressed. The guests shuffled in for the Cocktail hour at 4:30pm, where we played a wide variety of music, everything from Norah Jones to light love songs, to Piano. I was impressed a by one couple who came up and requested a few classic Sinatra tunes during cocktails. I knew it was going to be a FUN evening.
The bridal party made their grand entrance before dinner to “Better Together” by Jack Johnson, followed by Lindsay’s Uncle, Father Andre giving the blessing. Prior the first dance, guests were treated to a slide show that we put together highlighting Clance & Lindsay’s lives together and growing up, then on to the dancing. Their first dance was “At Last” by Etta James. This song has made a huge comeback at weddings this year! Lindsay danced with her dad, Art to “My Girl” by the Temptations, and Clance danced with his mom, Carol to “Simple Man” by Lynyrd Skynyrd.
We followed that by asking all of the couples to come out and dance one slow dance with Clance and Lindsay, and boom the dance floor was packed! Classics could be heard throughout the night from the Foundations to the B-52’s, and even a little Glenn Miller for the older folks. We honored the longest married couple with the “Anniversary Dance” shortly after the night began, and the bridal party was again introduced for the Grand March to “Livin On a Prayer” by Bon Jovi. The couples switched partners to “I’ve Had the time of my life” from Dirty Dancing.
The Bouquet toss was “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,” by Cindy Lauper, and Clance removed the garter to “I’m Too Sexy” by Right Said Fred, that was a true TREAT! We ended the night with Michael Buble’s, “Save The Last Dance for Me.”
Photography was done by “In This Moment,” out of Neenah. Karl & Stephanie are a husband and wife team. They were great! Throughout the night, they were not only taking pictures, but couples could also get their pictures taken in the corner. I highly recommend them!
