Best Western/Midway Hotel- Green Bay, WI

Sunday, 18. April 2010

Last Monday night, I had an opportunity to do a site inspection at The Best Western Midway Hotel in Green Bay.

What is a site inspection? It’s when we visit a facility that we haven’t played at in a long time, or new facility, and walk the premises and check out the room logistics for an upcoming event. Niki Meissner and her staff are great to work with and are very accommodating to the needs both the couples, and the vendors present.

There are not a lot of facilities in the Valley or NE Wisconsin that can accommodate more than 300 guests, this is one that does. With seating up to 450, the columns room is a long room that can easily accommodate 400+ with access to two bars, one internal to the room, and one adjacent that is perfect for cocktails. The room offers plenty of space, even with 300 in the room.

4/10/2010 – Jossart/Holstead Reception

Wednesday, 14. April 2010

We had the pleasure to spend the evening entertaining at Cassie Jossart and Nick Holstead’s wedding reception at the Best Western Midway Hotel in Green Bay.   Niki, Holly and the rest of the staff were fantastic and very accomodating to both Cassie and Nick, as well as the rest of the guests.   Thanks again guys!     Their wedding photographer was Adam Shea Photography, and he was also a treat to work with.   The pictures are ours, not his. taken with our iphone.

Cassie & Nick’s feature selections included:

Pre-dinner bridal party introductions- Bittersweet Symphony- Vitamin String Quartet
Cake Cutting- My Wish- Rascal Flatts
First Dance- It’s Your Love- Tim McGraw/Faith Hill
Cassie’s dad- Dennis/Cassie Dance- Butterfly Kisses- Bob Carslisle
Grand March- I Gotta Feeling- Black Eyed Peas
Bouquet Toss- Single Ladies- Beyonce
Garter Toss- Yeah!- Usher

After dinner, we kicked off the reception dancing with an icebreaker, “The Shoe Game” aka Newlywed Game, to see how well Cassie and Nick really knew each other!  It was a hit, and the guests really got a kick out of it!   We followed it up with their first dance, and Cassie’s dance with her dad.   The dancefloor packed out early and stayed pretty steady throughout the evening.

Guests danced throughout the evening from Nick’s favorite, “Billie Jean” to Madonna’s “Like A Prayer, to several others.   It was a truly memorable evening!   One thing that captured my eye was their use of the disposable camera’s.    They set them out on the table as an “eye spy” game, asking guests to take pictures of everything on the list.   This was unique!

We closed the night with not one, but two encore songs!   The last one is below, with everyone linking arms and singing “Piano Man” at the top of their lungs.   A great way to end the reception.  Cassie and Nick, we wish you both nothing but the best!   You and your guests really know how to have a great time!   Thanks for letting us celebrate with you on your special day!
