If you are planning a wedding ceremony in Wisconsin, exchanging wedding vows could become a challenge. There are so many lush, beautiful scenic locations to choose from, which on a warm, summer day could be beautiful!
However, this isn’t always the case, Wisconsin can be cold into May and even some days in June, in addition, you’ll need to contend with with mud, snow, hail, wind and other challenges, not to mention rain.
You should always be ready with a back up plan, it’s always best to be prepared. If your ceremony is near the water, you might encounter a boat passing by, or crashing waves. You’ll want to make sure you have an ample sound system that can amplify your voices so everyone can hear, not to mention drown out mother nature’s sounds and water, wind, waves, and boats.
Do you have an indoor location that you can fall back on should the weather turn sour with cold, rain, snow, etc.?
If it’s windy, make sure you tie down anything that can be blown away (ie, your aisle runner) If it’s warm, or hot, cold water in coolers can be refreshing to your guests during the ceremony. This can easily be done with several coolers filled with ice.
I can’t tell you how many times i’ve seen couples trying to light candles outside. Unity candles do not work outdoors, they won’t light because of the wind. Instead, try using sand or rock and having a sand ceremony where you both take a single color and combine them into one jar, mixing the two colors together.
