On Saturday, June 27th, Danielle Eldridge & John Drees, Celebrated
their Wedding Reception at the Elks Lodge in Oshkosh. This reception came as a referral from Danielle’s sister, Erin, who was married last year. Thanks for the referral, Erin!
Guests began arriving for cocktails at 5pm, and enjoyed a good mix of
smooth jazz, continuing through the 6 O’Clock Hour, when
a Buffet was served.
Shortly after 7pm, the kids were invited to take
part in a Scavenger Hunt, which was a huge success! If you
plan on having a good number of children at your reception, this is a
great way for both young and old to bond, and also works great
for just adults, too! At 7:30, the wedding party offered toasts to
the Bride and Groom, some funny, some very touching… Shortly
before 8, The reception began, with a good mix of 50’s & 60’s oldies, the
dance floor came alive almost immediately! at about 8:15, we got the
Grand March underway, “September” by Earth Wind & Fire was the song
that brought couples out to the floor, followed by Bryan Adams’
“Everything I Do” Danielle & John chose “When You Know” by Shawn
Colvin for their First Dance Song, that was followed up by
“Cinderella” by Steven Curtis Chapman, for the Father/Daughter
Dance.. I then invited all married couples out to the floor to join
the Bride & Groom for Eric Clapton’s “Wonderful Tonight” at least 20
couples joined John & Danielle. I then had guests applaud
them and wished them 20 years of wedded bliss, one year for every
couple on the floor with them!
We followed that up with the Bouquet Toss, and played Beyonce’s “All The Single Ladies” a great song.. and I believe is THE new bouquet toss tradition! Then came the Garter Toss, The single guys came out to David Lee Roth’s “Just A Gigolo” then had the couple that caught
the items, dance together to Harry Connick Junior’s “It Had To Be You”
which by the way, almost always gets great response from the
audience!
Party music then resumed, and the floor was practically full
for the rest of the night! playing a great variety of Party
Favorites, including The Cupid Shuffle, Cha-Cha Slide, YMCA, Chicken Dance, Old Time Rock & Roll, Shout, The Macarena, plus new favorites
from Black Eyed Peas, Soulja Boy, Gwen Stefani, and even a Michael
Jackson Tribute by the Groomsmen, who did their “Thriller”
rendition, which was well received!
I had alot of fun interacting with your guests, and just being a part of your special night! Thank you for having me, and many blessings for the years to come!!
