I
wanted to drop you a quick
email
to let you know how happy we were with Larry’s services
for our wedding. He came early to set up and he went out of
his way to make sure that both my husband and I and all of our guests
were satisfied with the music quality, selection and volume.
My children had a couple of requests that he was happy to
play. He played everything that we had on our list which was
great because I think there were a couple of songs he wasn’t
too sure he could find when we first met.
I’ve
had many
compliments from our guests since the wedding and I want to be sure
they get extended to Larry. He really did an absolutely
fantastic job!
Thank
you so much for your
services.

I've
Never Booked A DJ
Before, What Should I Ask? |
 |
|
|
Chances are this is your first
time planning
a wedding reception, and your first time having to find wedding
entertainment. Knowing what to ask as you begin
your quest to find great quality entertainment.
Remember, 80% of your receptions success will be based on the
entertainment you choose for your event. The won't remember
the food, the flowers, or the centerpieces, but what they will remember
is how much FUN they had, don't you want everyone to tell you for years
to come, "that
was the BEST reception ever!"
Of course you do!
 |
Whether you choose us, or any
other
entertainment company, I highly urge you to make sure you ask lots
questions, it's a big decision, and not every company is right for
everyone. Here are some questions to ask any Entertainment
company you are considering. Print the list and
use it as reference in your meetings as you begin to meet with
prospective companies. |
1. What
time will your DJ arrive to set up?
(You don’t want distractions for your
guests)
2. How
much experience does do they have doing WEDDINGS?
(Look for at least 5 years, Our Wisconsin wedding DJ's have no less
than 15 years of exclusively wedding experience.)
3. Can
you meet with them before you sign a contract?
(This is critical, know their personality)
4. When
do you meet with the specific DJ
before your event? (Insist
that the assign your DJ early on in the process, so you can meet with
them and get comfortable several months in advance)
5. Do
they provide back up equipment?
Where
is it located? In the car, office, onsite?
6. Do
they have a back up DJ plan in the event that the DJ gets sick etc?
(They should)
7. How
much input do you (the bride/groom) have in selecting the
music?
(You should have as much input as you desire, it’s your
event)
8. Can
your guests make requests
at the event, or in advance?
8. Does
the DJ company carry any type of liability insurance?
(They should, most venues require it!)
9. What
do they wear to your event?
(Tuxedo, Formal, Business? Casual?)
10. Can
they provide references?
11. Can
they provide specific examples of how they will insure the success of
your event?
12. Are
there any travel fees involved?
(Some companies charge as soon as they leave the Driveway, We DON'T)
13.
Will they provide dinner
music
& announce formalities? (Who is going to take care of
getting guests seated? Introduce the toasts? Announce the Cake
Cutting?
14.
Can they help you in offering suggestions for other wedding
vendors?
This will be done by your DJ in most cases. The venue will
take care of the food, not the announcements, so if your DJ doesn't do
it, who will?
| Hopefully, these questions
will help you
begin thinking in the right direction regarding selecting
entertainment. Your DJ should get to your event and
be set up and ready to go before the guests arrive.
Let's schedule a time to meet,
we will address all of these questions, and more. In
addition, we will provide a ton of planning ideas for your reception
and/or ceremony. |

|
As
you begin talking to different DJ
Companies on the phone, ask to schedule an appointment to learn more,
and ask questions. If they
won’t meet with you, until a contract is signed,
that’s red flag. In addition, I
don’t recommend, asking to “check out” a
show, as every event is different, and you could only get a slice of
that event, not to mention, it’s a private party, and you
certainly wouldn’t want anyone crashing in on your event.
I’d be happy to talk with anyone, no matter where they are,
and who they might be considering, and offer to help guide the
entertainment process. As you plan your
wedding reception, make sure you take careful consideration in choosing
your DJ, you’ll be glad you did! We will travel anywhere in Wisconsin
to do a pre-book no obligation consultation, to see if we would be a
good match.
