The Top 10 Most Commonly Forgetten Wedding Details - So You Don't Forget Anything

Planning a wedding can be both exciting and stressful. There are so many details to consider, and it's easy to forget some of the smaller, yet still important aspects of your big day. To help ensure that your wedding goes off without a hitch, we've compiled a list of the top 10 most commonly forgotten wedding details.

  1. Wedding Day Timeline

One of the most commonly overlooked wedding details is the wedding day timeline. Having a detailed timeline is crucial to keeping everything on track and avoiding any unnecessary stress on the big day. Make sure to include all the important events, from getting ready to the first dance, and share the timeline with all members of the bridal party and vendors to ensure everyone is on the same page.   Your DJ/MC should be able to help you craft the perfect timeline for your day, which will run smoothly, and be fun and engaging!

2. Marriage License

It may seem obvious, but obtaining a marriage license is often forgotten in the hustle and bustle of wedding planning. Make sure to research the requirements in your County of Wisconsin, as each has it's own restrictions, and rules, and obtain your license well in advance of your wedding day.

3. Wedding Favors

Wedding favors are a small but thoughtful way to thank your guests for celebrating your special day with you. Whether it's a personalized trinket or a bag of treats, don't forget to include these little tokens of appreciation for your guests. If you book a photo booth for your wedding, the printed photo strips make great wedding favors that won't end up in the garbage.

5. Transportation

Transportation is often an after thought, but it's important to ensure that you and your guests have a way to get to and from the wedding venue. Consider hiring a shuttle or providing transportation options for guests who may have difficulty getting around.  We've got some great vendor recommendations for Transportation and any other vendors you might need.

6. Seating Chart

Creating a seating chart may seem like a daunting task, but it's an important detail that shouldn't be forgotten. Not only does it help ensure that your guests have a comfortable and enjoyable experience, but it can also help prevent any potential conflicts or awkward situations.  Bonus Tip:  If you are planning a seating chart, do your seating chart and/or table cards alphabetically by name rather than by table number as it will be easy for guests to scan for their name quickly.

7. Wedding Day Emergency Kit

No matter how well-planned your wedding is, unexpected mishaps can still occur. Having a wedding day emergency kit on hand can help alleviate any stress and ensure that you're prepared for any situation that may arise. Items to include in your emergency kit could be a sewing kit, stain remover, and pain relievers.

8. Meal Restrictions and Allergies

Ensuring that all of your guests are able to enjoy the wedding meal is an important detail that shouldn't be overlooked. Make sure to ask guests about any dietary restrictions or allergies in advance and communicate this information to your caterer.

9. Vendor Meals

Don't forget to include your vendors in your meal count and provide them with a meal during the reception. This is not only a common courtesy but also ensures that your vendors are energized and ready to provide top-quality service throughout the evening.

10. Thank You Cards

After the wedding is over, it's important to thank your guests for their attendance and any gifts they may have given you. Don't forget to send out thank you cards within a few weeks of the wedding day to show your appreciation.

In conclusion, planning a wedding can be a stressful and overwhelming experience, but by paying attention to these commonly forgotten details, you can help ensure that your big day goes smoothly and is remembered fondly by all who attend. Remember to take the time to plan and communicate with your vendors and bridal party to create a memorable and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.   If you are looking for great entertainment, reach out as we've got several 2025 dates open and we'd love to talk to you about your day.
