We don’t leave anything to chance. From the initial inquiry to the final dance, your vision is documented, shared, and executed to perfection. Here's our proven workflow process:

Step 1: Discovery & Planning

From your first call or consultation, we get to know your vibe, must-play songs, timelines, and big moments. You’ll work with our office team to ensure everything is captured in our custom wedding planning portal.  In addition, every month during the planning process leading up to your wedding day, we'll share tons of engaging, fun ideas to keep your guests involved and engaged from beginning to end.

Whether you're getting married at Poplar Creek Barn, The Gibson Social Club, The 513 in Appleton, Camp Elsewhere, or anywhere in Northeast Wisconsin, we tailor everything to your venue’s needs and your vision.

Step 2: Collaboration Meeting with Your Assigned DJ

About 6-8 weeks before your wedding, your assigned DJ will reach out and schedule a collaboration planning meeting, where you'll collaborate together on your songs, vibe, and all of the details of your day. We review every single detail — ceremony cues, grand entrance names, your "do not play" list, sound needs for remote ceremony locations, and your dance floor expectations. 

Step 3: Wedding Timeline Recap

Your assigned DJ will also have a call with you to go over your outline and double check all of the details one more time about 1 week prior to your celebration, so everyone is on the same page, and you can have a stress-free and truly be a guest at your own wedding celebration!

Step 4: Pre-Event Prep & Music Check

Your DJ loads your playlists and backup copies. We test audio, wireless mics, ceremony sound (even if it's in a field with no power), and lighting gear like our Chauvet BT 6 systems. For remote venues around Oshkosh or Appleton, we bring our Jackery 500 power banks, so you never have to worry about a generator or outlet.

Step 5: Execution on Event Day

Your DJ arrives early, reviews the timeline, connects with your coordinator, photographer and other day-of vendors or point person, and executes everything just like you envisioned. From the perfect ceremony transitions to the epic dance floor drops, we make it feel effortless — because we’ve already rehearsed everything behind the scenes.

A: Our internal DJ Handoff Process ensures every event has a backup DJ fully briefed and ready. Your timeline, music, and preferences are all stored in our system, so there’s no interruption to your day.

Q: Will my DJ know our music style even if we didn’t meet them early on?
A: Absolutely. Every DJ is thoroughly briefed with your event details, music lists, and notes from the initial meeting.  In addition, all of our DJs are trained and versatile in all genres of music and styles.  In addition, you will meet 1:1 with your assigned DJ to go over all of the details.

Q: How does Sound Sensations keep everything organized?
A: We use a custom CRM, detailed planning docs, and regular internal team check-ins. That’s how we ensure every event is executed with consistency, care, and creativity.

Q: Do you cover ceremony sound even at remote venues with no power?
A: Yes! We use battery-powered speakers and backup systems like the Jackery 500, so whether you're in a barn, a backyard, or deep in a field — we’ve got you.

Q: Can I meet my DJ before the wedding?
A: Of course! About 6-8 weeks prior to your wedding or event, you'll have a collaboration meeting with your assigned DJ to go over all of the details for your celebration.
